At Clarence Dental we offer bulk billed dental treatment for patients eligible under the following schemes:


Medicare’s Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS):

medicare CDBSChildren aged 2-17 years may be eligible for $1000 of free dental treatment over the course of two years.  CDBS is a Federal Government means tested initiative.  Eligible children are entitled to dental treatment including check-ups and cleans, x-rays, fillings, fissure sealants, extractions and root canal treatment – up to the $1000 limit allocated to each child over a period of 2 years.

Clarence Dental offers bulk billing for this service, so all you need to do is bring your Medicare card along to each appointment and we do the rest in regards to processing your claim.  If you are unsure as to whether your child qualifies for this scheme, feel free to contact us with your Medicare card details and we will be more than happy to check this for you over the phone.  Please advise our staff that your child is eligible for CDBS when making appointments.


Government Outsourcing Dentistry for Pension or Health Care Card holders:

Bulk billed dentistry is available from Dr Schlamm to those holding a Medicare Card, and one of the following:

  • Pensioner Concession Card
  • Commonwealth Seniors Health Card
  • Queensland Seniors Card
  • Health Care Card

A dental treatment voucher must first be issued by Metro North or Metro South Oral Health Service.  Please contact Medicare to arrange this assessment with the Queensland Oral Health Service on 1300 300 850.  Dr Schlamm is contracted to complete any treatment required on behalf of the Queensland Oral Health Service, within their guidelines and limitations upon presentation of the relevant dental treatment voucher here at Clarence Dental.  Please note we are only able to accept vouchers issued by Metro North or Metro South Oral Health Clinics.

To establish your eligibility for bulk billed dentistry at Clarence Dental as a public patient, please speak to Medicare.  Clarence Dental Staff are unable to advise you of your eligibility status.  Please ensure that you inform the receptionist that you have been issued with a Government voucher when you make your appointment with Dr Schlamm.  Dr O’Sullivan does not provide treatment under the government outsourcing program.


Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) Gold card holders:

Clarence Dental is pleased to offer dental treatment to DVA Gold Card holders at no fee.  Please advise the receptionist that you hold a Gold Card when you make your appointment, and present your card at reception upon arrival.  Treatment under this scheme is subject to the Department of Veteran’s Affairs terms and conditions.
