At Clarence Dental, all of our gold and ceramic work is constructed meticulously using only the best quality materials.  We work alongside high-end dental laboratory, Hade Dental Ceramics – right here in Brisbane.

Commonly known as a “cap”, a crown encases a tooth like a thimble. This gives the tooth added strength when it has become weakened from, for example, decay or an existing large filling. A crown can also be used as a way to cosmetically enhance a tooth. When the dentist prepares a tooth for a crown, a small amount of tooth structure is removed from the surface. An impression is taken which is sent to our Brisbane laboratory to enable construction of the crown. In the meantime, the dentist places a temporary crown on the tooth. Crowns can be made of porcelain (tooth coloured), gold or a combination of both.

A bridge is used to replace one or more missing teeth. Usually two or more teeth are prepared as for a crown. In similar form an impression is sent to our Brisbane laboratory and a temporary bridge is placed until the permanent bridge can be cemented in place. Because the bridge is cemented it cannot be removed like a denture.
